Chihuly Nights at the Biltmore
The Biltmore at night, takes on a new look, especially with the Chihuly Nights Glass Exibits. Although the sculptures are no longer at the Biltmore, you can check out Dale Chihuly Exhibitions at one of his other locations.
According to the pamphlet we received, it mentions, it took two years for the planning and installation. Dale Chihuly is the artist, of these beautiful and unique sculptures. I have never seen any of his work before however they so unique and mesmerizing.
I must admit, I like the sculptures by day as well as by night. During the day they become part of and add beauty to their surrounding. However, there is something magical about them at night, the way the light reflects off the glass, and they are not depending on any of their surroundings, to reflect their radiant beauty. At night it is almost like they are saying it is all about me.
There are 16 sculptures on the grounds. When we were told this when we picked up our tickets I was thinking it did not sound like much, but boy was I wrong some of these things are massive. These photos will only give you a glimpse of their true magnitude.
“Sole d’Oro”
Located on the main lawn in front of the Biltmore. The detail and texture in this is just amazing. Does not look so big here, although in the photo below in the daytime, you can really see the actual size. It makes you wonder how they pack these up to transport them to another location. It would be interesting to watch that process.
“Sole d’Oro”
“Sky Blue and Cobalt Fiori”
Just outside the entrance doors of the Biltmore.
“Laguna Torcello II”
The only sculpture inside the Biltmore. In the winter garden. Amazingly HUGE.
“Float Boat” & ” Niijima Floats”
In the Italian Garden at night.

“Palazzo Ducale Tower”
Looks like a white Christmas Tree.
Daytime view of the “Palazzo Ducale Tower”. We are so thankful we purchased our remote control selfie stick for this trip, so we were able to easily get pictures of us.
“Fiori Boat”
“Neodymium Reeds with Fiori Verdi”

“Cattails an Copper Birch Reeds”
“Burnished Amber, Citron, and Teal Chandeliers”
There were three of these hanging in the conservatory. We actually missed them, as I was look so intently at all the flowers. After we did the second walk through the gardens at night. I sat down to look at my brochure and realized we somehow missed this set, AJ said you can go back if you want to, I will wait here for you. It was a long walk. We came back the next day and went back to see these. Funny though when we were looking back at our pictures we took this picture and did not even notice the sculpture overhead, just shows how well they fit in their surrounding.
“Pergola Garden Fiori”
“Alabaster and Amber Spire Towers”
Did not see this one at night. It is located at Antler Hill and we did not go back over there at night but beautiful in the daylight, for sure.
“Turquoise and Erbium Fiori”
Another Chihuly on display at Antler Hill so we did not see this one at night. Although it is stunning addition to this beautiful fountain.
Such a blessing to be able to experience the Biltmore, that has been on by bucket list for about 10 years, and Chihuly Nights Glass Exhibit at the same time. Great two for one GREATexperiences.
